.: What are the clinically tested health benefits associated with daily intake of Liberation?
The health properties of Liberation using kefir grains
from the All-Union Dairy Institute of Moscow have been studied for the
past ten years at McGill University by Dr. Stan Kubow and Dr. John
Sheppard. The newly released Liberation products was developed into a
commercial products by KCLM Research in Nutrition Inc. that originated as
a McGill University start-up company to develop commercially the
research results of the remarkable health properties of kefir. The
properties, mechanisms of action and health benefits of Liberation are
being supported by further laboratory research and clinical
investigations at McGill University, l'Université de Montréal and North
Carolina State University.
Clinical research surrounding the health benefits of
Liberation was carried out by Dr. Dominique Garrel at the Centre
Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) with chronic fatigue
patients as well as an independently run USA-centered clinical trial
involving patients with fibromyalgia.
From the above clinical trials, reported benefits of Liberation include:
.: Significant clinically important pain relief
.: Improved physical and emotional well being
.: Increased energy and vitality levels
.: How much Liberation should I take and for how long?
As Liberation is sold as a nutritional products, no
specific dosage is prescribed as for a drug. The timing of improvements
varies according to the individual. According to our research evidence,
people have experienced improvements within 1 to 4 weeks of intake of 20
g per day; however, there appears to be greater improvement with longer
intake. The optimal dose varies with the severity of the condition and
ranges between 10 to 30 g. Some people have more success with larger
doses of 30 g per day but many can lower their daily doses to 10 g per
day after initial improvements are observed.
.: How much products does it take to obtain a 10 gram dose?
When using the spoon that comes with your Liberation
products, a 10 gram dose is equivalent to 2 full to overflowing spoons
or 3 regular spoons. If you take a daily dose of 30 grams you will need
6 full to overflowing spoons or 9 regular spoons.
.: How should I take Liberation?
Try to take Liberation on a daily basis to obtain the
full health benefits. The products can be mixed into water, carbonated
drinks, juices or smoothies and can be taken at any time of day, either
with or without meals. You can also mix Liberation in foods such as
soups, yogurt, oatmeal or oatbran cereals.
For larger daily doses of 20 or 30 g, it is suggested
that the products be taken twice a day. Some people may experience
gastrointestinal discomfort or acidity from taking the products, which
can be alleviated by taking oat bran or sodium bicarbonate at the same
time.
After you note enhanced well-being that can include
amelioration of pain, improvements in mood, energy and physical activity
levels, you may find that lower doses can effectively allow you to
comfortably maintain your quality of life.
.: How long do you need to use Liberation before you will experience significant improvements in health?
The length of time needed to experience improvements
depends upon the individual and the dose taken. The clinical trials and
case studies performed to date have shown clinically meaningful results
within one to four weeks of intake of Liberation with greater
improvements being observed with more prolonged intake.
A USA-based clinical trial carried out over a two-month
period testing subjects with fibromyalgia taking 30 g of Liberation
showed clinically meaningful improvements within one month in several
areas of physical and emotional well-being including significant effects
on:
.: Bodily pain
.: Improvements in work or other daily activities when
these have been previously limited by physical health limitations
.: Improvements in work or other daily activities when
these have been previously limited by emotional health limitations
The same study showed significant clinically important
improvements in following intake of 20 g of Liberation for 2 months in
terms of:
.: Bodily pain
.: Improvements in work or other daily activities when
these have been previously limited by physical health limitations
.: Improvements in performance of all physical activities, including bathing or dressing
A separate clinical trial involving chronic fatigue
patients performed by Dr. Dominique Garrel at the Centre Hospitalier de
l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) showed that the intake of 37.5 g
Liberation for 1 month significantly
resulted in clinically important gains in improving:
.: Bodily pain
.: Increased energy and vitality overcoming feelings of being tired and worn out all of the time
.: Who could benefit from taking Liberation on a daily basis?
Everyone can benefit from taking Liberation to improve
their physical and emotional well being, particularly those who suffer
from chronic tiredness such as persons with chronic fatigue syndrome and
fibromyalgia or those who want to increase their energy for activities
of daily living. Many individuals who suffer from chronic physical pain
can also benefit by a significant diminishment in pain.
.: Are there any side effects with Liberation?
As Liberation is a concentrated and highly effective
extract of a probiotic, it can take time for your body to adjust. If you
experience minor gastrointestinal side effects such as acidity,
bloating, or increased gas, you may start with daily small amounts of
Liberation such as 5 to 10 g and then gradually increase your intake to
allow your body to adjust to a dose that you find effective within a
couple of weeks, usually from 20 to 30 g daily.
.: What can I do if I experience acidity or bloating?
Relief from acidity may be obtained by concurrent intake
of sodium bicarbonate supplements that can be purchased at pharmacies
and health food stores. The bloating and gas experienced by some people
can be diminished by taking oat bran at the same time. Some individuals
have experienced a lessening or disappearance of the gastrointestinal
disturbances when Liberation was taken over a more prolonged period of
time although the length of time for the body to adjust differs among
individuals.
.: Are there any contra-indications with common medications or vitamin and mineral supplements?

amounts of tyramine, which is known to raise blood pressure in patients
receiving therapy with monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Therefore,
individuals receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitor therapy should avoid
